Chelsea are planning to hand Antonio Conte a £240 mil transfer budget in order to improve his Premier League winning squad and challenge for the Champions League. With Diego Costa expected to leave in the summer along with a number of other fringe players, Chelsea will have to sign a number of players to have the necessary squad depth to challenge for four trophies next season.
Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected to join from AS Monaco for a fee in the region of £35-£40 millions. He will partner N'Golo Kante in an all action midfield duo for the Blues. His arrival will however leave Nemenja Matic without a permanent spot in the first team. He is expected to leave Chelsea for Manchester United to reunite with former manager, Jose Mourinho.
Romelu Lukaku has also been linked with the Blues for a summer move from Everton. He was one of the big name players who left the club under Jose Mourinho. He is expected to cost almost a £100 millions. Alvaro Morata and Robert Lewandowski have also been linked as possible replacements for the departing Costa.
Chelsea will also be looking to bring in new defenders although they had one of the best defences in the English Premier League last season. Andreas Christensen will return from his highly successful loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach and will be expected to challenge for a first team spot. Juventus left back, Alex Sandro is expected to join for £60 millions. Leonardo Bonucci and Virgil Van Dijk have also been linked with the club to replace departing club captain, John Terry.
It is going to be a wild summer transfer window with exorbitant amounts of transfer fees to be spent. There has never been a more exciting time to be a Chelsea fan.
